About Debbie

Nice to meet you

Teacher – Writer – Public speaker – Stand up comedian

I am Debbie! A proud South African who has been living and working in the Czech Republic since 2012. I am a big fan of stories and I have loved telling, listening to, reading and writing stories for as long as I can remember.

It’s therefore no surprise that I obtained my degree in Journalism and Linguistics after which I worked as a journalist and presentation designer in South Africa.

Since moving to the Czech Republic in 2012, I have enjoyed teaching the English language to adults at universities and various private companies, I have taught teaching methodologies to teachers through the Erasmus+ Teacher Academy and, when I’m not in the classroom, I’ve enjoyed working as a copywriter, running a creative writing group, taking part in Public Speaking competitions and doing stand up comedy.
